Hampton Court Half Marathon – Outdoor PA Sound System & Generator Hire

Hampton Court Half Marathon – Outdoor PA Sound System & Generator Hire – for the fifth year running, on 23rd February we returned to Giggs Hill Green, Thames Ditton, for one of our favourite runs – The Original Hampton Court Half Marathon, hosted by top race organisers KBC Special Events.  As usual, we arrived onsite by 5.30am.

To maximise sound coverage, we usually set up loudspeaker clusters around all four aspects of the central cricket pitch, to provide loud and clear announcements covering the participants’ assembly, baggage, start and finish areas. However this year, due to a soggy green following much rainfall leading up to the day, we modified our layout, whilst still maximing sound coverage. Predictably, Giggs Hill Green quickly filled up with runners from 7.15am onwards…

The loudspeaker clusters were d&b audiotechnik E8 cabinets, mounted across twin forks on 3.5mtr high winch stands, each cluster providing 180degrees on axis coverage, resulting in even sound levels across the site.

Sennheiser G3 300 series radio microphone equipment was deployed, with external paddle antennae mounted to the top of our control van, to maximise radio frequency range.

To complete our self contained outdoor sound system package, we supplied a Stephill 6kVA silenced diesel generator and a  sound technician onsite throughout.

If you are organising an outdoor run, walk or sporting event and need an outdoor sound solution that is loud, clear and reliable, with a user friendly technician onsite throughout, please get in touch and see what we can do for you. We provide sound services to many half marathons, 5k runs, 10k runs and similar events and look forward to adding yours to our portfolio of regular sporting events.

We played running themed tracks over the Half Marathon PA system during the event to set the mood for the day, in between KBC’s race commentator making his announcements and encouraging runners as they approached the finishing line. Attendance was around 5,000 and the weather was kind throughout
